42 children from our school participated in the recent Cumann na mBunscol interschools' sports day. There was a massive attendance with pupils from 21 primary schools partaking in events. The day began with a parade around the track with each school displaying their banner, wearing their school’s colours with pride and singing Amhrán na bhFiann before events got under way.
Events included individual races, team relays, tug of war, ball throw, long puck, long kick and long jump. Every boy and girl represented Roundwood N.S. impeccably and should be very proud of themselves.
Most importantly well done to each and every child who took part; everyone who participated on the day gave everything their very best effort. The level of sportsmanship displayed on the day was fantastic with children seen shaking hands at the end of events and congratulating each other on the podium. Special thanks to our volunteer parents who were a fantastic help on the day to the group's accompanying teachers Ms. Morrisroe and Mr. Flood.
